The Benefits of Reiki
Reiki provides a natural solution to achieve deep relaxation, inner peace and a greater sense of well-being. The benefits of a Reiki session may range from immediate and significant, to subtle and long-range. Energy assists the body’s own self-healing mechanisms to rebalance that which is out of harmony, helping each person to attain a greater state of wellness. Benefits are reported to address physical, mental, emotional and spiritual issues. My clients state that the benefits are just as noticeable long distance or referred to as remote, as it is in person. In fact, many clients have stated that the results they get are better when I provide remote healing than, their in person experience has been in previous sessions they have had elsewhere.
How Does Reiki work?
Reiki energy seems to have an intelligence of its own flowing where it is needed in the client and creating the healing conditions necessary for the individual’s needs. Many of us believe the source or cause of health comes from the Ki/Life Energy that flows through and around us. Ki animates the physical organs and tissues as it flows through them creating a healthy condition. If the flow of Ki is disrupted, the physical organs and tissues will be affected. This disruption in the flow of Ki is the main cause of illness.
Ki responds to our thoughts and feelings. It will flow more freely and strong or with a weaker flow depending on the quality of one’s thoughts and feelings. Negative thoughts and feelings cause a restriction in the flow of Ki. The negative impact of stress on our health is widely recognized, even among the traditional medical practitioners.
We also need to realize the mind exists not only in the brain, but also throughout the body. The nervous system extends to every organ and tissue in the body and so the mind exists here. In fact, the mind even extends outside the body in an energy field called the aura. Therefore, our negative thoughts are not just in the brain, but also collect in locations throughout the body and in the aura. The places where negative thoughts and feelings accumulate are where Ki’s flow is restricted. If the negative thoughts and feelings are not eliminated quickly, illness results.
The great value of Reiki is that because it is guided by the Higher Intelligence, it knows exactly where to go and how to respond to restrictions in the flow of Ki. It can work directly in the unconscious parts of the mind/body, which contain negative Ki-inhibiting thoughts and feelings and eliminate them. As Reiki flows through a sick or unhealthy area, it breaks up and washes away any negative thoughts or feelings lodged in the unconscious mind/body thus allowing a normal healthy flow of Ki to resume. As this happens, the unhealthy physical organs and tissues become properly nourished with Ki and begin functioning in a balanced healthy way thus replacing illness with health. Western medicine continues to look at and examine alternative methods of healing; the noninvasive practice of Reiki is growing in acceptance as valued healing practice.

Chakras are a key factor in all aspects of Reiki.
There are seven major Chakras. They are energy portals where energy flows. When a Chakra becomes blocked an imbalance occurs. If not cleared, illness and disease can manifest it.
The Seventh Chakra – Crown Chakra located at the top of the head. This relates to one’s personal and spiritual connection to the universe.
The Sixth Chakra – Third Eye Chakra located between the eyebrows. This is the center of intuition and awareness.
The Fifth Chakra – Throat Chakra is linked to creativity and communication.
The Fourth Chakra – Heart Chakra located at the Heart and gives us the ability to express love.
The Third Chakra – Solar Plexus located behind the solar plexus, which gives us our personal power in the world.
The Second Chakra – Sacral Chakra located just beneath the navel. It is related to our sexual and reproductive capacity.
The First Chakra – Root Chakra located at the base of the spine. It is linked to survival and our ability to ground ourselves in the physical world.
